Espresso Cup — Sea Breeze

A handmade espresso cup thrown for a short, strong coffee, in the Sea Breeze glaze. The cups below are the exact pieces currently available, so you can choose the one that feels right for you.

The shape

Each Espresso Cup is thrown on the wheel with a compact body and thumb and finger indents pressed into the sides for grip, sized for a short, strong coffee, then turned and finished by hand the next day.

The glaze

Turquoise breaking over sand. This pairing came from summers on the Llŷn Peninsula, where the water turns properly green in the shallows and the beach is the colour of unfired clay. The turquoise pools where the glaze runs thickest, exactly as it does on the shoreline.

Every piece is thrown and finished by hand, so small differences in shape, glaze movement, colour and texture are part of its unique character.
