The shape
Each Spoon Rest is thrown and shaped by hand, then turned and finished the next day. It is designed to hold a spoon or ladle safely off the counter, with a gentle curve that keeps mess contained.
The glaze
Blue over a soft sand, drawn from walking the gritstone edges above Macclesfield. On a clear day the rock reads grey-blue against dry bracken, and that is the pairing here, a warmer blue than Cornflower, set on a soft, sandy base.
