A tall tumbler-style cup, perfect for an iced coffee or a cold drink, glazed in Sea Breeze. This Thumb Cup is thrown on the wheel in my home studio in Congleton, Cheshire, with a traditional thumb and finger indent built into the body for a comfortable, secure grip. Once thrown, it's turned and finished by hand the next day, then dried, bisque fired, glazed, and fired again before it's ready to use.
Sea Breeze is turquoise breaking over sand, inspired by summers on the Llŷn Peninsula in North Wales, where the water turns properly green in the shallows and the beach is the colour of unfired clay.

This is the exact cup shown in the photos, not a similar one, since every piece is thrown and glazed entirely by hand, small differences in shape, glaze movement and colour are part of its unique character. Once it's gone, it's gone.

Small differences in shape, glaze movement, colour and texture are part of each piece's unique character. An unglazed, sanded base is normal, and fine crazing may appear over years of use — a natural trait of glazed stoneware.
