The shape
Each Thumb Cup is thrown on the wheel with a tall, straight-sided tumbler form and thumb and finger indents pressed into the side for grip, then turned and finished by hand the next day, built for an iced coffee or a long glass of something cold.
The glaze
Turquoise breaking over sand. This pairing came from summers on the Llŷn Peninsula, where the water turns properly green in the shallows and the beach is the colour of unfired clay. The turquoise pools where the glaze runs thickest, exactly as it does on the shoreline.

Every piece is thrown and finished by hand, so small differences in shape, glaze movement, colour and texture are part of its unique character.
