A neat teaspoon rest for keeping a teaspoon or tea bag off the counter, glazed in Makers Mark. This Teaspoon Rest is thrown on the wheel in my home studio in Congleton, Cheshire, sized to sit tidily by the kettle. Once thrown, it's turned and finished by hand the next day, then dried, bisque fired, glazed, and fired again before it's ready to use.
Makers Mark is the most direct of the six glazes: navy slip marked straight onto the raw clay by hand and sealed under a clear glaze, so the mark stays exactly as it was made, with no two pieces ever quite the same.

Small differences in shape, glaze movement, colour and texture are part of each piece's unique character. An unglazed, sanded base is normal, and fine crazing may appear over years of use — a natural trait of glazed stoneware.
